2007   NEW ISSUES  2007

CONCERTINO for Bb Clarinet and Orchestra (DSE110) SONATA for Solo Violin (2003), DSE531

Commissioned by the Naumburg Foundation and dedicated to Robert Mann.

CONCERTINO for Bb Clarinet and Orchestra (DSE110) RHAPSODY for Violoncello with Vibraphone and Piano Accompaniment (2003) (10 minutes), DSE534

CONCERTINO for Bb Clarinet and Orchestra (DSE110) SONATA No 2 for Violin and Piano (2004) (18 minutes), DSE536

CONCERTINO for Bb Clarinet and Orchestra (DSE110) TRIO for Violin, Violoncello and Piano (2004) (14 minutes), DSE537

Both this work and the SONATA No 2 (DSE536) signal that the composer was heading in a new stylistic direction. The works are lyrically romantic, intensely personal and alive with virtuosic high-energy and flair.

CONCERTINO for Bb Clarinet and Orchestra (DSE110) FANTASIA for Clarinet and Piano based on G. Verdi's opera "Rigoletto" -- F. Pontillo, transcribed by Donald Martino from an 1899 band manuscript, DSE905

With this brilliant and lyric FANTASIA, Dantalian issues this fourth and final adaptation (2003).
